Tinchi Tamba Wetlands

Tinchi Tamba Wetlands are located on the northside of Brisbane at Deepwater Bend on the North Pine River. This is a tidal mangrove area upstream of the Houghton Highway bridge to Redcliffe. It offers quiet paddling with the opportunity to land on dark sandy beaches to explore salt marshes, claypans, grasslands and casuarina forests.

Access is from the Bruce Highway at Strathpine Road exit. Follow Wyampa Road to the boat ramp and pontoon at Deepwater Bend. Be aware that power boats launch here and weekends can be crowded. Downstream from here is the Bramble Bay section, upstream is the North Pine and South Pine sections. On longer trips consider the effects of falling tides and strong winds.
